Job Description:
Short-Term Overnight Newborn Nanny Needed
Location: Honolulu
Dates: June 11, 2022-August 5, 2022
Loving and welcoming couple seeks a newborn nanny to care for their first child. They seek an experienced nanny who is sweet with a nurturing disposition. A nanny who truly enjoys their work with babies and families is a must. Along with caring for the baby, the nanny will share with the parents best practices and guide them on this new journey. The parents want to be as hands on as much as possible and are excited to learn from the nanny!
Mom intends to stay home with her primary focus being the newborn. Later on, possibly in the third month, she plans to work intermittently only. Dad works from home and has a flexible schedule. Their ideal nanny is comfortable working as a team alongside the parents, taking the lead so the parents can rest and teaching about caring for newborns and infants.
Being willing to run child related errands and grocery shop is preferred but not required.
Their home is a peaceful environment where they relax and unwind. There are no other adults in the household but family& friends will be visiting on occasion. They do have a medium sized Aussie Bernedoodle. No pet care duties are required but the nanny should be comfortable around dogs.
Option for nanny to live-in at the family’s home in the neighborhood of Aina Haina (Honolulu, HI). Nanny will have their own private room and private bath. All bedrooms are on the same level; the nanny's room is nearest to the baby’s nursery.
Nanny will respectfully share common areas including kitchen, living room and outdoor space with family during nanny’s off time. Family is open to either providing food of the nanny's choosing during their weekly grocery shop or a stipend for the nanny to purchase their own food. Family prefers a nanny who has their own vehicle.
The nanny will work 5 overnights (9pm-6am) with 2 full days off each week. If the nanny is interested in working additional overnights or a combination of days/overnights the family is open to that as well. The family is looking for as much help as they can get during this new and exciting time in their lives!
Nanny’s duties include the full spectrum of childcare, child’s laundry, bottle cleaning and picking up the nursery. The family has a housekeeper so housekeeping duties are not required of the nanny but the family requires a nanny who will clean up after themselves and be tidy. If nanny is able to help oversee weekly water deliveries the family would be appreciative but it is not required. If nanny speaks Mandarin, that is a bonus to the family, but not a requirement.
Nanny should be adhering to CDC recommendations and following all local & State regulations regarding COVID-19.
Family requires the nanny to be covid vaccinated and will ask that the nanny test weekly using an at-home test provided by the family. Position requires the nanny to commit to the family for the entire contract term and it is expected that this will be the nanny’s sole employment during this time.
Schedule:
5 night shifts per week 9pm-6am
Compensation
$36-$46+/hr for overnight hours
$46+/hr for Certified Newborn Care Specialists
Overtime ($52.50-$69+/hr), 100% medical, 5 days sick leave (if unused will be paid out at 12 hours of daytime rate per day)
